Whole house remodel of a 1906 Palo Alto Category 4 Historic Colonial Revival variation known as “Cape Cod”. The goal was to work within the envelope of the existing structure to reimagine the narrow hallways and tight rooms, and incorporate more current homeowner desires such as open floor plans, better natural light, mudroom, and ensuite Primary bathroom. In addition, the new design boasts large concealed storage areas under the second floor eaves, direct interior access to the unfinished basement and a new covered porch under the mature redwoods.
